Warm up Ōtaki: heat, health and jobs
In partnership with Te Puna Oranga o Ōtaki and the Wellington Sustainability Trust, Energise Ōtaki is delighted to help Ōtaki households warm up this winter.
Up to 140 Ōtaki homes will get free insulation and where needed all-but-free heat pumps, plus help with energy planning, accessing curtains and more.
Te Puna Oranga o Ōtaki will be prioritising home owners with health conditions made worse by cold and drafty homes.
In the words of our Chair Leigh Ramsey, “We hope this is just the start of these three collaborating organisations helping locals enjoy their warm, energy-efficient homes. More heat means even more heart in Ōtaki”.

Want to work on Warm Up Ōtaki?
This is a chance to take on a new challenge; training will be provided. Immediate start!
The assessor will work flexible hours to assess insulation and heat pumps at selected homes. This will likely involve getting under houses and into ceilings. (Hopefully you like spiders.)
You are well organised, can drive and have a vehicle – mileage will be covered for trips during work hours – and enjoy working with the community.
Hourly rate on enquiry. This is a fixed contract with varied hours per week.
Training will be provided here also. Installers will have a vehicle big enough to carry tools including a ladder. This job definitely involves getting down and around under houses and into Ōtaki roofs.
Installation standards will be set by the Sustainability Trust, who you will train with.
Start date is yet to be set; possibly from May. This is a fixed contract with varied hours per week. Hourly rate on enquiry.
