Warm up Ōtaki: heat, health and jobs
In partnership with Te Puna Oranga o Ōtaki and the Wellington Sustainability Trust, Energise Ōtaki is delighted to help Ōtaki households warm up this winter.
Up to 140 Ōtaki homes will get free insulation and where needed all-but-free heat pumps, plus help with energy planning, accessing curtains and more.
Following a change in government funding, we are very glad to be able to say that Warm Up Ōtaki can continue to source 100% of insulation costs for Ōtaki homeowners with a community services card (or those living with someone who has one), and nearly all costs for heat pumps. That’s 80% of heat pump costs covered!
In the words of our Chair Leigh Ramsey, “We hope this is just the start of these three collaborating organisations helping locals enjoy their warm, energy-efficient homes. More heat means even more heart in Ōtaki”.
-Do you live in Ōtaki or Te Horo, own your home and have a community services card (or live with someone who does)? You are eligible for free installation and/or an 80% subsidy on a heat pump.
-Don’t have a community services card? Please type your address into this map (or scan around it). If you are in a decile area marked 8, 9, or 10, you are eligible.
-Meet these criteria and have an open fire or an old firebox that’s not helping your heating situation much? You’re also eligible.
-Have a heat pump and would like another? Unfortunately we can’t help you with that one!
Please feel free to visit our office (open Tuesdays – Thursdays 10am-2pm) or email email@example.com with any queries.
Energise Ōtaki, Te Puna Oranga o Ōtaki and the Wellington Sustainability Trust want to acknowledge EECA and Electra, whose funding is helping our community get warm (that’s 80% subsidies from EECA with 20% insulation top-ups from Electra).
