Ōtaki Kindergarten – Power to the People

In 2018, Energise Ōtaki started the Power to the People Project funded by Greener Neighbourhoods. The result of this project was a shed with an electricity-generating bicycle inside.

Hamer Hardware provided the materials that the Ōtaki MenzShed used to build the shed that housed the bike that will use individual’s “pedal power” to charge mobile phones or other devices. The project was completed in 2019.
