Donate your pre-loved curtains

All our curtains are donated by people like you. Each year more than 60 families in Ōtaki receive lined, fitted curtains, free from the Curtain Bank in Wellington.

Please help us to help even more families by donating your pre-loved curtains, fabric, and tracks here in Ōtaki.

We gratefully accept clean (no mould) curtains, fabric, tracks, and hooks.

We cannot take donations of blinds, curtain rods, or curved tracks.

Dropping off curtains

You can drop your curtains at the Business Park:
Unit 4, 31–33 Riverbank RdŌtaki.

You can leave the curtains at the door if nobody is there. Please text (or phone) 021 877 142 to let us know.

Got a Community Services Card, or living with a SuperGold Combo cardholder?

Want some free curtains to keep warm this winter?

Download an application form, fill it in online, OR pick up a form from Citizens Advice Bureau (65a Main St.) or Energise Ōtaki (7 Main St., 10-2pm Tuesdays-Thursdays).

Drop your completed form at Citizens Advice Bureau (65a Main St., Ōtaki).

Energise Ōtaki works with The Sustainability Trust Wellington to provide free lined ‘up-cycled’ curtains for your main living and sleeping areas.

Lined curtains (with 2 layers of material) are more thermally efficient than unlined curtains. Using them with insulation and draught stoppers around windows and doors can prevent up to 60% of heat loss.

If you have a Community Services Card or a SuperGold Combo cardholder living with you, you are eligible for free curtains.
