Free insulation is available for house owners who have a community services card or where the house is in an area which has been identified as ‘low income area’. A special subsidy is possible which can be between 67-85% depending on the circumstances. The service is provided by the Wellington  Sustainability Trust who will assess your situation and advise what is possible.

Own a community Services card? Then free lined Curtains are available for cold homes:
Energise Ōtaki, in cooperation with the Wellington Sustainability Trust, also operates the Ōtaki Curtain Bank. If you have a Community Services Card you can apply to get recycled lined curtains made to fit your windows from donated curtains. You can apply until early November. Pick up your measurement form at the Ōtaki Citizens Advice Bureau or you can download a form or fill it online.
