Add to your calendar here – Saturday 19th October 10am – 2pm at Memorial Hall, Main Street, Ōtaki

We throw away vast amounts of stuff. The spirit of a Repair Cafe is rethinking about broken items, and seeing if they can be repaired instead.

Sometimes people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves or they no longer know how. Repairs can save money and resources, as well as help minimise CO2 emissions and landfill. But above all, our Repair Café wants to show how much fun repairing things can be, and how easy it often is. A Repair Café is also a great way to connect our community in a new way. You will discover that a lot of know-how and practical skills can be found close to home, at the Repair Café.

To help Energise Ōtaki spread the word about the Repair Cafe, you can print or share the Ōtaki Repair Cafe poster  and/ or share with your friends via our facebook page –https://www.facebook.com/groups/EnergiseOtakiHelpingOurselvestoaSmartFuture/ or the event is listed on Facebook, here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2457977131144625/

Come and see for yourself on Saturday 19th October at the Memorial Hall Ōtaki and share this great community event – no matter if you’ve got something to repair or not. You might be interested to listen to the presentation about a plastic free life or learn how to make your own cleaning liquids. We are there from 10am to 2pm. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee & a piece of cake and watch what is happening. It’s a free event but we appreciate a koha to support the Repair Cafe.
