There is a continuing project of designing and using resources for Ōtaki College (and others) to teach sustainable energy ideas.

Energy Cubes

Energy Cubes

‘Energy cubes’ allow students to simulate and test different conditions found in homes and in other buildings. Students learn about the relationship between insulation and energy conservation and loss as part of their Year 9 science curriculum.

E-volocity

Since 2017, Energise Ōtaki has helped support Ōtaki College to compete in the E-volocity Electric Vehicle Challenge. his is a competition to design, build and then race an electric vehicle.

Repair Café

Repair Café

Since 2019, Energise Ōtaki has run highly successful Repair Café events, aimed at re-creating a culture of repairing items with the help of knowledgeable volunteers. We encourage the attendees to become involved in the repairs, so they’ll learn skills to use again.

Successful Bike Space Giveaway – 12th Dec 2020

On Saturday 12th December we hosted a very successful Bike Giveaway. The sun turned up to shine, and we brought along all the pre-requested bikes ready to match to their recipient. We gave out 50 bikes in total as well as 40 helmets.
